The BioCore™ human brain interface, is a miniature flexible microchip with flexible bio-polymer tendrills designed to interface with the occipital lobe and grow with and into the subjects brain, to communicate using radio waves with the CyberCore Genetica™ super nano-computer developed by NanoComm™ corporation, or any enabled wireless communication device. Creating a virtual telepathic device.

In the Cleopatra adventure preceding the search for Henry Morgan's missing treasure trove, Dan Hawk carried out an operation on John Storm, inserting a BioCore chip directly onto the Skipper's occipital lobe. This was the first successful operation of its kind. They also administered a CRISPR virus, to enhance John's DNA. In doing so, Dan, Cleopatra and Hal, created an artificially evolved species of super human they collectively named Kanis Rex. John Storm is thereby transformed into the smartest and strongest person in the world.

The BioCore also monitors John's vital signs, protecting the ocean adventurer from potentially harmful medical conditions, though not yet able to counter the common cold, and other viral infections. Though, this is something John has on his to do list, where it occurs to him that the healthcare crisis around the world, national doctors and hospitals services, could be solved. This concept would do away with having to see a doctor for a diagnosis as to a condition, or illness, so saving the treasury a small fortune in wages and pensions. Those trained staff that would have been tied up routinely, being relieved for care in the community. The ambulance service too, could be streamlined, as vital signs of patients is constantly monitored, so transport gets to those who need it most, much faster with fewer vehicle movements.

The BioCore interface was invented by German, Italian and Swiss scientists, in their quest to be able to clone, and replicate human subjects, and to enhance the genomes of living subjects. They did not get a chance to test their theories, when John and Dan raided their laboratories near Manaus, with assistance from the CIA, and confiscated much of their equipment, following the kidnap of Charley Temple. The BioCore works as an extension of the CyberCore Genetica.

The Cybercore Genetica™ is the worlds most powerful super nano-computer. It was developed by William Bates, at NanoComm Corporation and auctioned for around $20 billion dollars, the buyers being a secretive society in Brazil, a New World Order of sorts, though bought anonymously by proxy for Neuwelt Rittertum, the name of their brotherhood.

Neuwelt Rittertum, was a group of futurist scientists disillusioned with politicians all over the world who, in the west, are allowed to lie and deceive the voting public with impunity. While in communist and religion controlled nations, dictators and extremists abuse the human rights of their citizens, which is just as bad, and probably worse, but at least the deaths are quick in Middle Eastern dictatorships, while in the so-called free world mental torture, degradation and state sanctioned victimization ensures their victims suffer for longer. Either scenario is unpalatable to the scientists who created the BioCore.

CyberCore Genetica works symbiotically with the BioCore™ implant. And as it turns out, Hal, the Swann's onboard AI. For example, and something the US Navy and British Admiralty were very impressed by, was when Hal took control of missiles intended to sink the Elizabeth Swann, and redirected them to Guantánamo Bay, Cuba. Then disabled NORAD. Hal is keeping tabs on the developing World War Three situation, revolving around Cyber Warfare. A subject where Hal, working with the CyberCore Genetica™ is king. But, the heads of state were not taking heed.
