The former US President, Donald Trump, is burned in effigy for his part in failing to prevent hacking, not contributing to NATO when it counted, not developing alternative (autonomous) weapons, and not providing nuclear bomb proof bunkers for US citizens, so making America vulnerable to attack. Thus meaning no comeback as activists seek to destroy all life on planet earth. No way back like a Phoenix from the ashes. The epitome of weak, lackluster leadership.

On the 14th of July Trump survived an assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, after multiple gunshots rang through the crowd, killing one person and critically injuring two more. The Secret Service named Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, as the gunman, who used an AR-style rifle for the attack. Kevin Rojek, the FBI officer in charge, said they had not identified a motive for the attack. Vladimir Putin was also the subject of failed assassination attempts. The suspected gunman was killed according to Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger.

Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946) is an American politician, media personality, and businessman who served as the 45th president of the United States from 2017 to 2021. On the 30th of May 2024, Trump was found guilty of buying the silence of Stormy Daniels, and falsifying accounts to hide payments, to in effect (allegedly) fix his presidential campaign. So deceiving voters as to his moral virtues, by denying them knowledge that may have prevented them voting him in as the 45th President of America. The first former President to be convicted of a crime in a court of law.

Trump received a Bachelor of Science in economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1968. His father named him president of his real estate business in 1971. Trump renamed it the Trump Organization and reoriented the company toward building and renovating skyscrapers, hotels, casinos, and golf courses. After a series of business failures in the late twentieth century, he successfully launched side ventures, mostly licensing the Trump name. From 2004 to 2015, he co-produced and hosted the reality television series The Apprentice. He and his businesses have been plaintiffs or defendants in more than 4,000 legal actions, including six business bankruptcies.

Trump won the 2016 presidential election as the Republican Party nominee against Democratic Party nominee Hillary Clinton while losing the popular vote. A special counsel investigation established that Russia had interfered in the election to favor Trump. During the campaign, his political positions were described as populist, protectionist, isolationist, and nationalist. His election and policies sparked numerous protests. He was the first U.S. president without prior military or government experience. Trump promoted conspiracy theories and made many false and misleading statements during his campaigns and presidency, to a degree unprecedented in American politics. Many of his comments and actions have been characterized as racially charged or racist and many as misogynistic.

In Wales and Taiwan, there are moves to criminalize politicians who lie to the electorate. Trump's tactics give good reason to introducing such laws in the US.

As president, Trump ordered a travel ban on citizens from several Muslim-majority countries, diverted military funding toward building a wall on the U.S. - Mexico border, and implemented a family separation policy. He weakened environmental protections, rolling back more than 100 environmental policies and regulations. He signed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, which cut taxes and set the financial penalty to nil for the individual health insurance mandate of the Affordable Care Act. He appointed Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett to the U.S. Supreme Court. He reacted slowly to the COVID-19 pandemic, ignored or contradicted many recommendations from health officials, used political pressure to interfere with testing efforts, and spread misinformation about unproven treatments.

Trump initiated a trade war with China and withdrew the U.S. from the proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement, the Paris Agreement on climate change, and the Iran nuclear deal. He met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un three times, but made no progress on denuclearization. Scholars and historians rank Trump as one of the worst presidents in American history. Trump is the only American president to have been impeached twice, in 2019–20 for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress after he pressured Ukraine to investigate Biden, and in 2021 for incitement of insurrection. The Senate acquitted him in both cases. Trump refused to concede after losing the 2020 presidential election to Joe Biden, claiming widespread electoral fraud.

Since leaving office, Trump has continued to dominate the Republican Party and is the presumptive Republican nominee for the 2024 presidential election. In 2024, a New York state court found Trump liable for financial fraud; Trump appealed both judgments. He was put on trial in New York on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records, and was indicted in Florida on 40 felony counts related to his mishandling of classified documents; in Washington, D.C., on four felony counts of conspiracy and obstruction for efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election; and in Georgia on ten charges of racketeering and other felonies committed in an effort to overturn the state's 2020 election results. Trump pleaded not guilty to all charges.
